This week on News You Can Use, we sat down with Oklahoma’s #1 college basketball recruit—McKenzie Mathurin from Broken Arrow High School. She’s heading to the University of Michigan and already making major moves off the court.
McKenzie Mathurin has been making waves on the court—and in the community. A proud future Wolverine, McKenzie will be playing basketball at the University of Michigan next year, but her legacy is already solid.
This week, she joined Charles Harper and Damali Wilson in the studio, sharing her journey from shooting hoops as a toddler to becoming the top high school recruit in Oklahoma. Her discipline, humility, and love for the game shine through in every word—and every point scored.
But the real slam dunk? McKenzie donated $2,000 to the EduRec Youth & Family Fun Center, one dollar for every career point she’s scored. “It’s bigger than basketball,” her father said. And we couldn’t agree more.
